Terms and Conditions

The service

• betterbid is a public leaderboard. Anyone can submit a product, website, URL, or X handle and pay a whole-dollar amount to rank it.
• There are no accounts, no logins, and no ownership over a listing. Rank is the lifetime total paid for that URL, by anyone.
• A rank is not reserved, guaranteed, or timed. Anyone can pay more for their own listing and outrank you at any time.

Payments

• Payments are processed by Creem.io, acting as merchant of record. Creem.io handles the checkout, applicable tax, and payment methods.
• Bids are whole US dollars. The amount you pay is added to that URL's lifetime total.
• Once a payment is confirmed, the service is delivered immediately and automatically: the listing is created or updated and its rank recalculated. There is nothing left pending on our side.

No refunds

All payments on betterbid are final and non-refundable. This is not a limitation we apply loosely — it follows directly from what the service is:

• The service completes at payment. You're not buying a fixed slot or a subscription — you're buying an instant addition to a public, lifetime total. That total is permanently increased the moment your payment is confirmed, whether or not someone later pays more than you.
• Being outbid isn't a defect. Ranking is explicitly designed so anyone can pay more at any time. Losing your position to a higher bidder is the system working as described, not a service failure.
• Two people paying the same total at the same time is expected and allowed. If that happens, the earlier successful payment ranks higher. This is disclosed in the Rules before you pay, not decided after the fact.
• Digital services delivered instantly are commonly non-refundable once fulfilled, and betterbid fulfills the moment payment clears — there is no shipping, trial, or delay during which you could cancel before delivery.
• Listings removed for breaking the Rules are removed without a refund. Reading the rules before you pay is on you.

What you can't list

• Chat and invite links (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Signal, Messenger, and similar).
• Sexual or adult content.
• Link shorteners or obfuscated redirects.
• Anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to link to.

No warranty, limitation of liability

• betterbid is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
• We don't control, endorse, or vouch for any listed URL, product, or account. Click through at your own judgment.
• To the extent permitted by law, betterbid and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the transaction giving rise to the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use of betterbid after an update means you accept the current version. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
